Gloomy Bear Gets an Anime in 2021

On December 28, it was revealed that Gloomy, a pink bear character, will be getting its own anime in April 2021. The anime is called Itazura Guma no Gloomy (Gloomy the Naughty Grizzly).

A visual and a promotional video for the anime depicting Gloomy and his owner Piti-kun have also been released. The promotional video is currently streaming on the official YouTube channel.

Mori Check created and released the Gloomy Bear character in the year 2000. The Itazura Guma no Gloomy anime is being released to celebrate Gloomy’s 20th anniversary.

Itazura Guma no Gloomy looks like a slice of life anime that follows the daily life of Piti-kun, who finds Gloomy as a cub and raises him to an adult. Piti-kun sees Gloomy as his best friend even though Gloomy constantly attacks him.

According to the Gloomy Bear official website, Kōichi Yamadera will voice Gloomy in the series. Natsuki Hanae will play Gloomy’s owner Piti-kun. Takehiro Kubota will direct the anime.

Since the announcement is still new, there isn’t a lot of information available about the anime, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information comes out!
