Japan’s not shy of showing off their love for their adorable 2D creatures. Amusement parks, cafes, and giant mascots are only a handful of examples of how Japan goes above and beyond to bring these adorable creatures to life.
Today’s showcase is the Pokémon Cafe, located next to the Pokémon Centers in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi and Osaka’s Shinsaibashi. Visitors can indulge in a variety of meals, such as plates bearing Pikachu or Eevee’s faces or even eating rice out of Snorlax’s stomach!

Café locations serve food, sweets, and drinks. A couple of eye-catching items to look out for right now are the apple or strawberry tea sets, pancakes with a Pikachu stamp, and the Eevee chocolate parfait! The price range for these creations is fairly reasonable for a character café. The cheapest item would be an Eevee mug filled with hot chocolate (660 yen) and the most expensive would be the Snorlax lunch plate (1958 yen). The menu changes according to the season so make sure to swing by before your favorite food disappears!

Alongside Tokyo and Osaka’s locations, Ikebukuro also has a Pokémon-themed cafe called Pikachu Sweets! Pikachu Sweets sells a variety of delicious sweets, such as cupcakes, macarons, and parfaits, all bearing our favorite Pokemon characters’ faces. There’s also Pokemon merchandise sold only at Pikachu Sweets. While visiting, you can get a Pikachu plush wearing a Pikachu Sweets cafe uniform (pink or blue) or one of their four fluffy coffee sleeves!

Below are some photos of the food and sweets that have been offered over the years!
