As fans of Code Geass know, the original anime series premiered in 2006 and ran for about 9 months. Two years later, Code Geass got a second season, which ran for five months. Code Geass inspired 8 spinoff series, including Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.

The most recent Code Geass movie, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, premiered in 120 theaters in Japan, in February 2019. Funimation screened the movie in North America in May 2019. Producer Taniguchi said in April 2019 that the film is only “phase 1” of a 10-year plan for new content in the Code Geass franchise.

Although no one knows whether the new project will be an anime series or a movie, there is speculation that the title of the project could be Code Geass: Genesic Record. We’ll find out for sure on December 5th.
