    Anime NYC Goes Mobile

Like many other anime conventions, Anime NYC has fallen victim to the ongoing pandemic and transitioned its experience to a virtual platform. Attendees will download the app NTWRK, a free app that will allow attendees to shop just like they would at the physical convention!

Anime NYC is New York’s top anime convention. Created by LeftField Media, Anime NYC provides fans with a premiere anime experience at the Javits Center in New York City. Every year the convention invites famous guests from the pop culture and anime industry to participate in interviews, panels, or just grace us with their presence. Past guests include:

    • Boichi and Riichiro Inagaki: the duo who created Dr. Stone (Anime NYC 2019)
    • Shinobu Ono: the producer for The Promised Neverland (Anime NYC 2019)
    • Hiroshi Kitadani: the artist who sang “We are!” from One Piece (Anime NYC 2018)
    • Charlet Chung: the voice actress for D.Va from Overwatch (Anime NYC 2017)

Despite being virtual, Anime NYC is still able to bring some amazing guests such as Yuichiro Sato, the Producer and Chief Executive Officer for Studio CHIZU, and a special concert from the cast members of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

Guests will also still be able to visit loved convention locations, such as the Artist Alley and Expo Floor, virtually! All the booths will be promoted for three months (November 15, 2020 to February 15, 2021) with weekly promotional emails sent out to guests.

Some additional Anime NYC highlights, according to Anime News Network include:

    • Industry panels from Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Kodansha, Mangamo, Yen Press, and more
    • Watch Parties with classic anime from RetroCrush and Right Stuf
    • An Anisong DJ Night featuring NYC’s AniParty
    • Product drops from brands including HYPLAND, Atsuko, and Valeza

The 2020 virtual convention will be entirely on the free NTWRK app. Fans will be able to enjoy four straight days of virtual panels, watch parties, concerts, interviews, and more on the app! The NTWRK app is available for download on the App Store or on the Google Play Store. Download it in advance before attending the convention!

Anime NYC will be from November 17-20, 2020. Make sure to stay up to date by checking out the official Anime NYC website!
